Project Manager

This position provides naval architecture and marine engineering expertise for FSRU/LNGC newbuild projects, conversions, and fleet operations, driven by global development initiatives. The Project Manager will lead design and engineering efforts, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and resource optimization while supporting all project phases, from development through execution, as well as ongoing operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety in all work activities and align daily practices with core company values of stewardship, accountability, improvement, and leadership.
  • Integrate health, safety, security, environmental, quality, and risk mitigation measures throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain exceptional standards in engineering, operations, and safety to meet and exceed commercial commitments.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of industry standards for vessel design, including Classification Society rules, Flag State, and Regulatory requirements such as the IGC Code.
  • Lead and manage naval architecture and marine engineering projects, including structural engineering and cargo containment systems.
  • Support HAZOP, HAZID, FMECA, RAM studies, and implement Management of Change for both new and ongoing projects.
  • Oversee basic and detailed engineering efforts, defining scopes of work to meet project requirements in line with design criteria, policies, and best practices.
  • Specify and coordinate Owner Furnished Equipment scopes, collaborating with Supply Chain Management and project managers to identify suitable vendors.
  • Prepare detailed vendor requests, including work scopes, delivery schedules, documentation requirements, and purchase justifications.
  • Review and approve vendor and shipyard designs, engineering concepts, and documentation, ranging from front-end engineering to detailed design and plan approvals.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop innovative concepts and assess new technologies for their suitability and applicability.
  • Manage evaluations of LNGC-to-FSRU conversion projects and major modification projects during front-end development phases.
  • Travel internationally as needed to project sites, shipyards, and supplier facilities to oversee construction, attend meetings, and ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering.
  • At least 5 years of project engineering experience in shipbuilding, offshore oil and gas, or similar industrial or maritime projects.
  • Experience with LNG or FSRU operations is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite is required.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera is an advantage.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is optional but desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple teams under pressure to achieve project goals.
