Our Houston based client, a thirty-five year design/build electric (industrial construction) company, is seeking a project manager with a minimum of eight years’ experience in managing and bidding Design/Build electrical projects.
This position requires strong knowledge of the NEC, computer skills, AutoCAD (a plus), Estimating, Manpower scheduling skills, strong documentation skills, and good leadership skills. A thorough understanding of electrical codes and standards. Motor control, PLC knowledge, transmitters, pressure, level and other types of instrument use. Must know Electrical Design, load calculations, service design, voltage drop, conduit and wire calculations.
The successful candidate should have a Journeyman’s Electrician License with a Master License Preferred. No residential construction candidates will be accepted. Local candidates are preferred.
Duties will entail: Initial customer contact. Preparation of estimate/budget with a detailed review of customer requirements. Providing a full range of services, management duties such as project planning, execution, job cost tracking and job closure processes. Scheduling project material and labor resources and budget time required to meet deadlines. Inspection and review projects to monitor compliance with project plans, building and safety codes, and other regulations. Marketing and developing new customers. Building a base of sustaining work. Managing document controls and creating monthly status reports. Ensuring all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.
This position will require travel within the Houston area, 6 to 8 locations and the management of crews at three jobsites.
