Project Engineer

Our client in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a Project Engineer who thrives in the field and enjoys turning design concepts into fully functional projects. This role is perfect for someone who can bridge the gap between engineering plans and on-site execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, smoothly, and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the go-to engineering resource for construction, installation, and system startup.
• Review and interpret drawings, providing quick solutions to field questions or design conflicts.
• Verify layouts, equipment placement, and piping to ensure accuracy during buildout.
• Partner with commissioning teams to support testing, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
• Keep technical documentation current, including drawing updates and redlines.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to resolve interface issues.
• Track progress of engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Oversee project closeout activities, including turnover packages, as-built records, and lessons learned.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field (preferred, not required).
• 2–6 years of experience supporting construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with EPC or large-scale project environments.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, and equipment layouts.
• Experience supporting commissioning/startup activities and managing change processes.
• Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders (vendors, contractors, engineers, project managers).
