Manufacturing Sales Representative

Our Houston-based client is a leading machining and robotic welding company. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly within the Oil & Gas industry, with Aerospace experience being a plus. This role requires someone with the personality of a salesperson and the mentality of a Manufacturing Engineer, who can effectively communicate our capabilities to potential customers while understanding the intricacies of a CNC machining shop floor environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the Oil & Gas and Aerospace industries, leveraging existing industry knowledge and relationships.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Ability to independently quote parts from drawings, including estimating setup (SU) and cycle times, and effectively communicate our capabilities to potential customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely quoting, production, and delivery of orders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of sales success in a manufacturing environment, with heavy experience in Oil & Gas and Aerospace sectors.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and shop floor environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with MasterCam programming is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
